September - December 2026

What's involved

Swim the distance of the English Channel for charity, and raise money for people paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury.

For over 150 years swimming the Channel has been the ultimate swimming challenge. The Aspire Channel Swim is your opportunity to take on this epic challenge, from the comfort of your local swimming venue! If you can swim a length, you can swim the Channel - It's tough, but achievable, and we'll be there to support you through every length.

Swim to get fit, swim to feel good, and swim to raise vital funds for Aspire. If 22 miles isn't the distance for you, don’t be put off – we offer 11 and 44 mile options too, or you can choose to share the miles and swim as a team. Your challenge, your way.

When and where

The challenge officially runs from 14th September, but if you’d like to start earlier, you can! Take on the distance however you like, and conquer the Channel in your own time.

You can swim wherever you want - in your local pool, lido, lake, river or sea - wherever it's safe to swim. You can stick to one venue or mix it up. Complete 22 miles wherever you like to swim, and conquer YOUR Channel swim over 12 weeks.

Why swim for Aspire?

Every two hours someone is paralysed by a spinal cord injury and there is currently no cure.

Your support is needed more than ever. From the moment someone sustains a spinal cord injury, Aspire is there to ensure they have the support, advice and services they need to live independently. By signing up to swim you can guarantee you’ll be making a difference. Even better, you’ll be having fun, keeping fit and de-stressing at the same time.

For over 27 years, swimmers all over the world have been swimming the distance of the Channel to raise money for Aspire. Join this inclusive community swimming to make a difference. You can connect with other swimmers: both those ready to take on the challenge and those considering it.
