Nine year old Archie raises £258
I love swimming. Four years ago, I was scared of even putting my face in the water. Now I am doing the Rookie Lifeguard Gold award and I swim for my local club! Swimming didn't come easily for me. I wanted to give up my lessons so many times, but my mum said, "come on you can do it, don't give up!" and now I am glad she did!
When I saw the Aspire Channel Swim 2019 challenge, I really wanted to do it.
Swimming changed my life. Hopefully I can raise lots of money to help change someone else's life too.
Archie’s mum says, “Archie has really enjoyed this challenge. Not only has he felt very proud to be raising money for Aspire, he has also gained so much more personally. He was a shy boy who really lacked confidence.
Since doing this challenge he has changed so much. Even his teacher has commented on how this new-found confidence has really shown in his work this year.
He is often now heard saying "Actually I can." We have also noticed at home that he seems much more confident in himself. He finally feels that he is good at something. People have commented on how amazing it is that a nine year old is doing this challenge. He finally believes in himself. So thank you for allowing him to take part in this. Archie’s is one more life that you have changed for the better!"
